Buyers, primarily from California and Arizona, are drawn to Bandon's privacy and seclusion, along with the vast natural beauty. "I think people who lead high stress, demanding lives want a place where they can go and not feel those stresses and demands. They may purchase now for the investment, but will expect to move here in 5 to 10 years," says Hunter.

The area is also home to the exquisite Bandon Dunes Golf Course. With its location on sand dunes 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean, the world-class courses are frequently rated #1, often above even Pebble Beach. "You go up there, " says Hunter, "and it's like you are in a different world."

Hunter:  Our buyers are sophisticated; they want answers and information. They want more and more photos, aerials, videos, information on taxes, local government-our website and upcoming travel guides which describe in detail the life on the southern Oregon coast, introduce and educate our potential buyers. We e-mail back and forth and may communicate that way for several months before we see them here; we can go back and forth and I can really hone in on what they're looking for.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT LIVING AND WORKING IN BANDON?

Hunter:  I came here on a break from my career in the advertising business and was planning to go back to it but ended up staying after meeting several people in the real estate business. There is a perception that it rains in Oregon all the time and that is not at all true. We have beautiful, long stretches where we don't have any rain for months. In our charming Old Town, you can have a delicious lunch or dinner and with the views, you are really just in a different place.

Hunter: Real estate here can be complex and challenging, but also fun and enjoyable. I have excellent relationships with the brokers here. You have to have mutual respect and be able to talk to each other one on one.

Hunter Finch founded Bandon Property LLC in 2006 after noticing the untapped need for a real estate brokerage that specializes in special properties: higher-end, unique homes, ranches and businesses, that deserve a higher level of service.



Bandon Properties caters to a broad diversity of properties across all price ranges. However, for those special properties with inherently unique characteristics, Bandon Properties is able to provide a level of service higher than is typical for the regular real estate brokerage.
