We like to spend our free time working on our farms, riding through the 4,000 acres of the Walthour-Moss Foundation Preserve, competing, carriage driving and enjoying our dogs and cats. Continuing the support of the Foundation is crucial and fundamental to our equestrian community. Because of our love and appreciation for this preserved land, we happily donate a portion of our commissions on our Horse Country property sales. There's always something going on in our area. With seasonal festivals, movies in the park, First Friday concerts, holiday parades and wine tasting events.....our social schedule is always packed!

The things we like most about living and working in Southern Pines, NC is the small town feel and the southern hospitality. Most of us have come from somewhere else and we were drawn here because the slower pace and the lifestyle. We have horses, golf, great restaurants and the convenience of everything being within five or six miles of each other. Quite an amazing concept after most of us having come from bigger cities. There is such a great sense of community here in the "Pines" and you don't have to look long or far to see that.

DeSell & Co. Realty Group is the exclusive equine representative for Leverage Global Partners in Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Carthage, Vass, and Cameron, North Carolina, USA.



In 2007, after Jo-an DeSell had been in real estate sales for about seven years, she decided that it was time to brand herself as a horse farm specialist because of her long standing career as a professional horsewoman. It made perfect sense to have an equestrian specialist in an area with several hundred horse farms flanking over 4,000 acres of preserve land known as the Walthour-Moss Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to protecting and improving wildlife habitat, along with providing a place for equestrian purposes…foxhunting, trail riding and carriage driving. This is the largest privately owned preserve in the United States with trails, firelanes and cross country fences for all riders and drivers to enjoy.



In 2010, Jo-an saw a need for an additional broker and called on Audrey Wiggins to join her because of her equestrian background, along with her real estate knowledge, which she felt would enhance the team. Audrey and Jo-an worked closely together to create a team dedicated to exceptional customer service. They both began their real estate careers at about the same time and had the same strong work ethic and desire to provide the best buyer and seller experience in the marketplace.



Knowing that every firm needs solid administration and marketing, they hired Julie Pressley. With her business degree, prior real estate experience and having owned and operated her own business, she was a perfect fit for the DeSell team.



Jo-an’s and Audrey’s sales production continues to climb and they have consistently ranked in the top 10 percent in sales in their MLS. As the local market improves, DeSell is well positioned to provide superior service to all of its clients, and its success continues to be measured by their happiness and loyalty.
